Cambodian Senator Urges Local Authorities to Expedite Public Services

Senator Mong Rithy, Chairman of the Third Commission of the Cambodian Senate, has urged the competent authorities in Samrong Tong District, Kampong Speu Province, to continue strengthening the efficiency of public service delivery to citizens. He emphasized that authorities must increase the effectiveness of public service provision, ensuring speed and efficiency, while also maintaining security and social order, and continuing to pay high attention to preserving peace and stability. These remarks were made during a meeting with the council, clerks, and administrative police chiefs of the communes in Samrong Tong District on September 11. The meeting aimed to strengthen closer cooperation between the Senate and local authorities to enhance the effectiveness of community development work. It also sought to promote the implementation of the "Safe Village-Commune" policy and to gather specific challenges, requests, and needs from the grassroots level for reporting to the Senate Standing Committee for review and forwarding to relevant ministries for resolution. This meeting is considered a priority mission for the fifth mandate of the Senate, focusing on strengthening relations with voters who are frontline operators at the local level. The senator expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by local authorities in serving the public so far. Looking ahead to the 2027 election for the sixth mandate of the Commune-Sangkat Council, he urged authorities at all levels to prepare, particularly by ensuring accurate and orderly voter list verification and registration, to contribute to the successful outcome of the Commune-Sangkat Council election scheduled for June 6, 2027.
