G Adventures Founder Pledges Contribution to Cambodia's Tourism Development

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – Bruce Poon Tip, the founder of G Adventures, has reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the development of Cambodia's tourism sector. This pledge was made during a meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Peace Palace on September 23, 2026, where Poon Tip and his associates paid a courtesy call and discussed business matters. G Adventures is hosting the Global GX Summit 2026 in Cambodia from September 23 to 28, attracting approximately 700 delegates. Poon Tip expressed his deep gratitude to the Cambodian government for allowing the hosting of the GX Summit 2026, noting that the event will significantly contribute to showcasing and promoting Cambodia's tourism potential to the world. He also lauded the government's vision and strategy for tourism development, observing that it aligns perfectly with G Adventures' core mission of fostering community-based tourism to improve livelihoods and reduce poverty among local populations. He highlighted Cambodia's rich cultural and diverse natural tourism resources, positioning it as a highly attractive destination for both domestic and international tourists. Furthermore, Poon Tip emphasized G Adventures' dedication to developing Cambodia's tourism industry by working with international travel agencies, media, and prominent content creators to promote the country's beauty and attractions. The goal is to present Cambodia to the world as a safe, warm, and welcoming destination due to the hospitality of its people. In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet thanked G Adventures for choosing Cambodia as the host for this significant global event. He underscored that the presence of international delegates is crucial for demonstrating Cambodia's tourism potential to the world. The Prime Minister reiterated the government's tourism development policies, prioritizing eco-tourism and community-based tourism. He emphasized government support for tourism communities through infrastructure development, capacity building, and encouraging private sector participation, with the interests of local communities at the core. The Prime Minister also mentioned the development of new tourism products, such as tour packages connecting Cambodia's key regions like Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Additionally, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of modernizing the visa system and streamlining immigration procedures to facilitate travel for tourists and visitors to Cambodia.
