Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn signed the book of condolence at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Yangon on Tuesday, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, following the passing of former Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on 12 July. The Union Minister also conveyed Myanmar's sincere condolences to the embassy's Charge d’Affaires and officials during a meeting at the embassy. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the father of the current Emir of Qatar, served as the country's Emir from 1995 to 2013 and passed away at the age of 74.
