Kampong Chhnang Authorities Discuss Measures to Enhance Education and Health Sectors

Kampong Chhnang province held a meeting on July 29, 2026, to discuss the development of plans for the enhancement of the education and health sectors. The meeting was led by Deputy Governor Moung Vuthy and attended by deputy directors of the provincial hall administration, municipal and district authorities, and representatives from numerous relevant ministries. Deputy Governor Moung Vuthy stated that the objective of this new initiative is to reduce poverty by promoting investment in the health and education sectors. This will help create jobs, protect the livelihoods of vulnerable families, and strengthen resilience to climate change. Specifically, the goals include improving the quality of education, the aesthetics of the learning environment, sanitation, the health of young children, and healthcare services. Furthermore, the deputy governor emphasized that promoting the health and development of youth is an indispensable factor in contributing to human resource development. Health rooms within educational institutions are crucial for students and educational staff to receive primary healthcare services. Schools also serve as centers for counseling on mental and physical health, reproductive and sexual health, and for providing health education information. He highlighted that digital education initiatives and providing opportunities for youth, both inside and outside of school, to access scientific and accurate information are innovative measures to improve education. Leaders at all levels of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport, along with all relevant stakeholders, must actively participate through bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including support from various organizations and partner bodies, as well as from educational institutions themselves and from philanthropists.
