Construction has commenced on a new Police Friendship Hospital in Banteay Meanchey province, Cambodia. The three-story, 30-room facility aims to improve healthcare services for security forces, their families, and local residents. The provincial deputy governor highlighted that investment in health infrastructure is crucial for social well-being and that the health of police officers is fundamental to their effective duty.
Construction has officially commenced on a new Police Friendship Hospital in Banteay Meanchey province, northwestern Cambodia. The three-story facility, comprising 30 rooms, is being built at the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Police Headquarters and is expected to significantly contribute to improving healthcare access for security forces, their families, and local residents. During the groundbreaking ceremony held on September 3, 2026, Mr. Liam Soda, Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey province, expressed strong support and high regard for the initiative to construct the Police Friendship Hospital. He stated that investing in health infrastructure is an investment of immense value for people and social well-being. Furthermore, the Deputy Governor emphasized that the health of security forces is a crucial foundation for them to effectively perform their duties in protecting public security, order, and serving the people. He pointed out that establishing appropriate medical and care facilities that can meet actual needs is a factor that cannot be overlooked. He also highlighted the importance of participation from all parties to ensure the construction proceeds with quality, safety, and technical standards, guaranteeing that the hospital will provide long-term benefits to its users upon completion. He continued by stating that the construction of the Police Friendship Hospital signifies not just the creation of a building, but the establishment of a health infrastructure that can help save and treat illnesses more quickly and reduce the difficulties of travel for patients, especially in emergency cases. In this regard, the new Police Friendship Hospital is anticipated to become a key point in strengthening the healthcare system for national police officers, their families, and also in serving the residents in the locality. It also demonstrates care for the well-being of the security forces who are always on the front lines to maintain security, order, and social safety. The Police Friendship Hospital (POLICE FRIENDSHIP HOSPITAL), where construction has begun, measures 13.50 meters in width and 28 meters in length, stands three stories high, and has 30 rooms, all prepared according to technical standards to serve treatment and health care. This construction initiative is led by Police Commissioner General Soem Sarith, with the aim of establishing a modern and appropriate health base that can better meet the treatment needs in the locality. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Police Friendship Hospital was attended by Mr. Liam Soda, Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey, police generals and colonels, chiefs of specialized offices, police inspectors from various districts and municipalities, commanders of border patrol gendarmerie units, as well as numerous civil servants, businessmen, and citizens.
