Cambodian Red Cross Donates Homes and Aid to Needy Families

The Cambodian Red Cross, represented by its Banteay Meanchey provincial branch president, Mr. Um Ratry, and his wife, Mrs. Chey Nary Um Ratry, along with their working group, donated two houses and humanitarian aid to two impoverished families in the city of Serei Saophoan, Banteay Meanchey province, on September 11, 2026. The two families who received the new houses are Mr. Mek Om, 82, and Mrs. Heab Yav, 69. During the event, Mr. Um Ratry conveyed the regards and well wishes from Madam Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, and Madam Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Permanent Vice President of the Cambodian Red Cross, who consistently show great concern for the welfare and living conditions of all citizens. Mr. Um Ratry emphasized that the Cambodian Red Cross always stands by and pays the utmost attention to the well-being and livelihoods of the people, especially the elderly, disabled, widows, and families facing hardship, ensuring no one is left behind. In addition to the houses, each family received additional aid including 50 kilograms of rice, essential household goods, and a sum of money. Concurrently, Mr. Um Ratry urged citizens to be vigilant against dengue fever, encouraging participation in eliminating mosquito breeding grounds and seeking prompt blood tests if symptoms are suspected, to ensure timely treatment. This handover of houses and humanitarian aid demonstrates the commitment and contribution to alleviating the living burdens of citizens facing difficulties, in line with the mission of the Cambodian Red Cross.
