Authorities intercepted two vans carrying P2.8 million worth of cigarettes in Midsayap, Cotabato, and arrested four couriers who admitted the shipment was bound for local retailers. A separate offshore operation in Maasim, Sarangani, recovered P1.3 million worth of cigarettes transported aboard two motorized boats from Tawi-Tawi.
