Residents of Calumpit, Bulacan, marched in the streets over the weekend to demand full transparency in flood control infrastructure projects that were previously linked to anomalies last year. Approximately 1,500 people participated in the rally led by Zul Kifli Magat, spokesperson for the movement Tindig Calumpitenyo. The residents are expressing concerns over the ongoing flood control infrastructure work, citing past irregularities. They are strongly calling for complete transparency in the disclosure of how public funds are being used for the projects and the detailed plans for the infrastructure.
