Kandal Culture Ministry: Management and Conservation of Touk Anong Ancient Site Adheres to Law

The Kandal Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts has affirmed that the management and conservation of the Touk Anong ancient site are being implemented in accordance with existing laws, regulations, and procedures, with the aim of protecting, conserving, and preserving national cultural heritage. This assertion follows a clarification issued by the Kandal Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts, refuting content disseminated by the Facebook account "Rattana Information 24H" concerning the management and conservation of the Touk Anong ancient site. The department stated that the information published did not reflect the truth and could mislead the public. According to the clarification, the content disseminated by the Facebook account "Rattana Information 24H" contained incorrect interpretations of the roles and responsibilities of the specialized institution, potentially causing misunderstanding regarding the management of the heritage site. In the same clarification, the Kandal Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts appealed to the public to obtain information from official sources of competent authorities and to refrain from sharing unverified information to avoid confusion and maintain information order in society. Based on the clarification, the department also requested the owner of the Facebook account "Rattana Information 24H" to correct or remove the inaccurate content to ensure that information dissemination complies with the facts and respects the prevailing laws.
