President Prabowo to Convene Regional Leaders to Discuss Indonesia ASRI Program

President Prabowo Subianto announced his plan to summon all regional heads, including governors, regents, and mayors, to Jakarta for a special discussion on the 'Indonesia ASRI' program. ASRI stands for Aman (Safe), Sehat (Healthy), Resik (Clean), and Indah (Beautiful). "There will be a special meeting. I will gather all governors and regents in Jakarta," Prabowo stated during his remarks at the mass contract signing event for the KPR Sejahtera housing program, facilitated by the Housing Finance Liquidity Facility (FLPP), held in Batang, Central Java, on Thursday (30/7/2026). While Prabowo did not specify the exact date for the meeting, he reiterated that the sole focus would be on the Indonesia ASRI program. "I don't know the exact date. We will specifically discuss Indonesia ASRI, which means Aman, Sehat, Resik, and Indah," he said. Prabowo emphasized the program's significance for national transformation. He argued that beyond industrial downstreaming and self-sufficiency, safeguarding the environment is equally vital. "Because this is very important, frankly. We want to transform the nation, which means we need a lot of downstream industries, many factories, many processing breakthroughs. We need food security, food sovereignty, food self-sufficiency, which we have achieved and must secure. The world is full of uncertainty; we must secure that, we must secure energy, we must secure all of that. But, well, we must protect our environment," he elaborated. The initiative underscores the government's commitment to integrating environmental stewardship with broader national development goals.
