Cambodia Provides Aid to War-Disabled Veterans

In Kampong Thom province, Cambodia, aid in the form of food and essential supplies was distributed to war-disabled veterans and their families. Colonel Som Son, Commander of the Kampong Thom Military Region and Vice Chairman of the Cambodian Veterans Association, visited the Damri Chanklak commune in Stueng Saen city on August 8th to meet and provide assistance to veterans facing hardship. Colonel Som Son conveyed greetings from former Prime Minister Hun Sen, Chairman of the Cambodian Veterans Association, and Prime Minister Hun Manet, as well as Governor of Kampong Thom Province Noun Pharat, Chairman of the provincial branch of the association. He emphasized that the Prime Minister and relevant officials consistently assign tasks to the association's committees at all levels to care for the well-being and livelihoods of veterans and retirees, wishing them good health and long life. Thong Tim, representing five war-disabled veteran families, expressed profound gratitude to former Prime Minister Hun Sen and his wife, as well as Prime Minister Hun Manet and his wife, for their continuous attention to the welfare of veterans who have served the nation. He noted that in Kampong Thom, through Colonel Som Son, the association has provided housing, allocated social land concessions, and offered ongoing support with essential goods to veterans across the province. The five families receiving aid today have also previously received housing from former Prime Minister Hun Sen. The distributed aid, a donation from Prime Minister Hun Manet and his wife Dr. Pich Chanmony, included 25kg of rice, one case of instant noodles, two bottles of fish sauce and soy sauce, and one case of canned fish for each family.
