Colonel Win Tint, the Minister of Security and Border Affairs of the Yangon Region Government, said that if there are vacant, abandoned, or fallow lands in the townships where YBS passenger buses operate as their base and transit point within the Yangon Region, the Yangon Region Public Transport Supervisory Committee (YRTC) will continue to apply and implement procedures to use them as vehicle parking lots. This was stated by Colonel Win Tint in response to a question from Daw Moe Thuza, the representative of Constituency No. 2 of the Taungoo Okkalapa Township, during the 12th day of the 3rd regular session of the 3rd Yangon Region Hluttaw, held on August 31st, regarding whether there are plans to further expand systematic vehicle parking lots and improve the living standards of YBS drivers. It is said that systematic vehicle parking lots where all YBS vehicles can park systematically have not yet been fully implemented, and currently, measures are being taken to ensure that vehicles can park systematically and safely on the roads at YBS terminals/endpoints where there are no vehicle parking lots. It is known that the Yangon Region Public Transport Supervisory Committee (YRTC) is developing vehicle parking lots for systematic parking at YBS vehicle terminals and endpoints. Currently, one vehicle parking lot has been constructed near the BOC roundabout in Hlaing Tharyar Township, one parking space in front of the Yangon Western Technological University, one vehicle parking lot near the Sukadagon Public Housing Estate in Dagon Myothit (South) Township, one vehicle parking station near the Bailey bus stop in Taungoo Okkalapa Township, and one vehicle parking station on Nantha Phyu Road in Pazundaung Township. In addition, one vehicle parking lot is under construction in Waybar Gey New Town, Ngou Okkalapa Township, and one vehicle parking lot in Ward 10, Thaketa Township, and it is known that there is also one vehicle parking lot at the intersection of Wa The La Aung Lawka Road and Ratana Road in Shwepyuta Township. It is known that under the Yangon Region Public Transport Supervisory Committee, 21 YBS public companies are operating 134 YBS bus lines with 3,400 vehicles, transporting 1.8 million passengers daily.
