KALASIN — The grandmother of Thai travel YouTuber Hlun Solo said she still believes her grandson is alive, despite unconfirmed reports circulating on social media that he has died in Georgia. The family has not yet received official confirmation from the Thai consulate or any authorities. Speaking from her home in Kalasin on July 29, 2026, Som Plengsuk stated, “I still believe my grandson is alive. I want everyone and the relevant agencies to help bring him home safely. His family is waiting to welcome him.” She vehemently rejected speculation that his death, if it occurred, could have been suicide, emphasizing, “He was cheerful, friendly, and loved by people. He had no enemies or conflicts with anyone.” Plengsuk added that Hlun Solo, whose real name is Borwat Pengsuk, had been earning money to repair and build a home for her, making the suggestion of suicide particularly difficult to believe. She appealed for divine protection and his safe return. Hlun Solo’s aunt, Pornsawan Muangnikorn, also highlighted the lack of evidence, stating that the family has not seen any photographs or received information about the condition of the body or passport that could confirm the deceased was Hlun. His sister, Borlak Plengsuk, echoed this sentiment, confirming that while some individuals following the case have contacted the family with news of his death, no official agency has provided definitive confirmation. “At this point, we cannot confirm that my younger brother has died,” she said. “We do not know what happened, how it happened, or under what circumstances.
