Jakarta Fashion Week Partners with LEPAS to Promote Urban Lifestyle Trends
Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) is collaborating with New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand LEPAS to strengthen modern urban lifestyle trends. This partnership aims to capture the evolving urban dweller's perspective, where vehicles are seen as extensions of self-expression rather than mere transportation.
Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) is collaborating with the premium New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand, LEPAS, to strengthen the trend of modern urban lifestyles. This move is seen as an effort to capture the shift in the lifestyle of urban people, where vehicles are no longer considered mere means of transportation but have transformed into a medium of self-expression and part of personal identity. Chairman of Jakarta Fashion Week, Svida Alisjahbana, revealed that the decision to establish this cooperation was based on the common vision between the two parties in observing current trends. "We see today's automotive, as well as today's fashion, it goes back to the user. They are looking for authenticity, and we see in LEPAS that it's premium but accessible. We at Jakarta Fashion Week always bring the forefront, the premium, and also accessible. So this is a very strong collaboration," Svida stated during an interview at the GIIAS 2026 exhibition. Svida added, "The visitors to JFW are a group that is open to new innovations. As early adopters in fashion, they are more open to seeing leading cars. So we see this as a suitable way to communicate to the Jakarta Fashion Week community to experiment with LEPAS." The curation process to combine fashion designs with the aesthetic character of this vehicle required approximately seven months of preparation. The results were realized through a fashion show on the LEPAS booth runway with the theme "New Energy, New Lifestyle," featuring works by local designers Othman and Danjyo Hiyoji. In terms of manufacturing, LEPAS welcomes this collaboration as a form of strengthening the brand's position in the lifestyle segment. Vice Country Director of LEPAS Indonesia, Temmy Wiradjaja, said that design and fashion are intuitive elements that complement each other in the driving philosophy. "For LEPAS, design has always had a greater role than just aesthetics. Design is our way of bringing experience, character, and emotion into every journey," said Temmy. "Therefore, collaborating with Jakarta Fashion Week feels very natural, because we both believe that good design is not only beautiful to look at but also able to become part of someone's lifestyle," he added. Temmy explained that the focus of this cooperation is aimed at people who pay high attention to appearance and lifestyle as a whole, not just moving from one point to another. "Driving a car is not just moving from one place to another, but also expressing the lifestyle of the owner," said Temmy. In its participation at GIIAS 2026, LEPAS launched two flagship electrification vehicles with the spirit of "Drive Your Elegance": the LEPAS E4 EV and the LEPAS L8 PHEV. Regarding its expansion strategy, LEPAS is currently focusing on strengthening the foundation of its service network in Indonesia before pushing sales figures massively. "Currently, we are talking about how we prepare the network first in major cities in Indonesia, both in terms of sales and after-sales. After that, we will focus on sales volume," concluded Temmy.
