PAGASA Predicts Fewer Typhoons in Philippines Due to El Niño

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts a reduced number of tropical cyclones entering or developing within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) due to the El Niño phenomenon. While Typhoon Choi-wan is currently outside PAR, up to two tropical cyclones may enter in the coming days.
