Efforts to maintain and promote the Vietnamese language are diversifying within overseas Vietnamese communities. This initiative goes beyond mere linguistic preservation, serving as a crucial tool for fostering culture and affection for the homeland.
From language classrooms and community activities to digital platforms, Vietnamese is being preserved through increasingly diverse approaches. More than a means of communication, the mother tongue carries memories, culture and affection for the homeland. Ensuring that Vietnamese remains naturally present in the daily lives of overseas Vietnamese is therefore an important way to nurture their lasting bond with the Fatherland. A contest to preserve Vietnamese language among young people was held in Japan. Vietnamese language has also been highlighted for its role in bringing Vietnam and Thailand closer. Furthermore, the first computer-based proficiency test for the Vietnamese language was held overseas, underscoring its growing international presence and recognition.
