Cambodia Enhances ICT Education for Secondary Schools with KOICA-Supported Tech Exhibition

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Cambodia Office, organized an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) exhibition as part of the 'Building ICT Capacity for Education in Lower Secondary Schools in Cambodia' project. The exhibition aims to share the progress and experiences of learning in the field of ICT and to further motivate teachers and students from the project's target schools. The exhibition was held at three locations: the computer room, library, and central hall of the Hun Sen Regional Teacher Training Center in Kandal Province. A total of 160 participants, including 74 women, attended. These included ICT subject teachers and students from the 20 target schools, as well as trainees from the Kampong Cham, Kandal, Takeo, and Prey Veng Regional Teacher Training Centers. The event featured competitions divided into two groups: students and ICT teachers. The student group competed using three applications: Open Office (Writer & Calc) and Scratch. The ICT teacher group focused on presenting best practices in teaching ICT subjects. This competition was conducted under the project to build ICT capacity for education in lower secondary schools in Cambodia. The project aims to improve the quality of ICT education and has the following six specific objectives: 1. Improving the learning environment for trainees and instructors at regional teacher training centers. 2. Developing ICT subject curricula and teaching materials. 3. Capacity-building programs for instructors and teachers at target schools. 4. Improving the learning environment for students and teachers at target schools. 5. Developing ICT subject curricula and textbooks for lower secondary education levels. 6. Strengthening ICT education support programs.
