Phnom Penh Authorities Vow to Eradicate Online Scams

In Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, Mr. Khuong Sreng, a member of the Central Committee of the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and Chairman of the CPP Phnom Penh Committee, urged district and commune authorities to be resolute in eradicating online scams (ONLINES CAMS) within their jurisdictions. He emphasized strengthening and continuing to provide services to citizens through the commune's one-stop service mechanism with transparency and high efficiency. He strictly advised against illegal service demands, urging them to earn public trust and continue to encourage votes for the CPP. Mr. Khuong Sreng made these remarks during a meeting with members of the five commune party committees of Chroy Changvar district, held on the afternoon of July 29, 2026, after administrative hours at the CPP Chroy Changvar District Headquarters. He stated that the CPP has achieved many accomplishments for the nation, especially under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen, which has brought prosperity to Cambodia. The CPP has saved lives, granted freedoms, unified the nation, rescued citizens from the COVID-19 pandemic, and driven national development. The party holds a vision to transform Cambodia into an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050. Furthermore, Mr. Khuong Sreng urged CPP members and activists to continue supporting the government in peacefully resolving the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute, utilizing international law and diplomacy to protect the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Cambodia. He stressed the importance of trusting the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen, the CPP President, and Prime Minister Hun Manet in achieving a bloodless, peaceful resolution. He called on CPP members and activists to disseminate the exemplary actions of both leaders to the public, fostering deeper understanding and enthusiasm, thereby increasing support for the CPP to achieve victory in the upcoming elections in 2027 and 2028.
