Discussions were held to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Immigration and Population and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to implement the activities agreed upon by both parties, according to a statement. On July 23, in the reception room of the Union Minister in Naypyidaw, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Mr. Jaime Nadal Roig, the Country Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for Myanmar, and his delegation. During the meeting, the Ministry discussed the completion of the Union Report on the 2024 Census and Household Survey, and the reports of four regions, as well as ongoing efforts to publish the reports for the remaining regions and states, and the utilization of the 2024 census results for national development activities. Furthermore, it was learned that discussions were also held regarding the approval and implementation of procedures to facilitate entry visas and residency permits for UNFPA foreign staff, and on matters of continued close cooperation between UNFPA and the Ministry.
