Cambodian Red Cross Distributes Humanitarian Aid to 13 Vulnerable Families in Battambang
The Cambodian Red Cross, Battambang Provincial Branch, distributed humanitarian aid including food, essential supplies, and cash to 13 vulnerable families in Battambang province's Moung Russey district. The initiative followed instructions from Mr. Sok Lu, the provincial governor and chairman of the Red Cross branch.
The Cambodian Red Cross, Battambang Provincial Branch, distributed humanitarian aid to 13 vulnerable families in Battambang province's Moung Russey district. The initiative, carried out on the morning of September 9, 2026, was in line with the recommendations of Mr. Sok Lu, Governor of Battambang Province and Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Committee. Mr. Long Sophon, Acting Chairman of the Moung Russey District Red Cross Sub-Branch, along with colleagues, visited and delivered humanitarian aid from philanthropists to 13 families facing daily livelihood difficulties in the communes of Moung and Kiar, Moung Russey District. Mr. Long Sophon conveyed messages of deep concern, care, and affection from Mr. Sok Lu, the Provincial Governor and Provincial Red Cross Committee Chairman, and especially from Madam Bun Rany Hun Sen. They expressed constant consideration for the well-being of citizens facing hardship, regardless of their affiliations. The aid provided to alleviate the living conditions of these families included: - 25kg of rice - 1 set of fish sauce - 1 set of soy sauce - 1 box of instant noodles - 1 kit (mosquito net, blanket, mat, pillow, krama, sarong) - A sum of money Notably, one family, that of a 13-year-old girl named Mon Wanna from Kanh Khtum village, Kiar commune, also received an additional bicycle, sponsored by the OEC organization. This distribution highlights the ongoing commitment of the Cambodian Red Cross to support its citizens in need.
