Media Development : Training course on News and News Article Writing

For the development of media sector and capacity building of media personnel in news article writing, a training course on News and News Article Writing was conducted from August 31st to September 11th at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw. The training completion ceremony was held at the Ministry on Friday, with the attendance of Union Minister U Htein Lin. Speaking at the event, the Union Minister said the training is a result of friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and India for technology cooperation and media development. He highlighted the professionalism of media personnel in taking responsibility, understanding on media ethic, and providing accurate information to the public aligned with the government policies. The media personnel are urged to emphasize the value of the news, providing unbiased information to the public. Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Abhay Thakur also gave training completion remark. The Union Minister and Mr. Abhay Thakur later presented commemorative gifts to the coaches and training completion certificates to the trainees. In cooperation with the Media Development Department of Myanmar and Indian Ministry of External Affairs, the training course was conducted under the India Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme. Brought together 30 trainees, the training course offered news and news article writing, counter-news writing, news analysis, online news and news summary writing practically and theoretically.
