Based on the condition of the cracking and collapsing road shoulders, the Parami Social Welfare Association is issuing a warning to road users to exercise extreme caution in dangerous areas. In Panma Ward and Aung Thit Lwin Ward of Mogok city, retaining walls collapsed due to heavy rains on August 5, damaging 3 residential houses and injuring one person. Furthermore, on the morning of August 7, retaining walls collapsed again in Kaba Aye Ward and Kyatpyin's Bodhi Gone Ward, causing damage to one house, according to the Parami Social Welfare Association. "Many roads in the city are overflowing with mountain water. The current is also strong. The steps in front of the PhondawOo Pagoda in the city center are leaning due to the heavy rain and are starting to collapse. The rain is still falling," said a resident of Mogok city. It has been learned that on the Mogok-Mandalay road, vehicles traveling up and down are stranded due to landslides. "Yesterday, on the Mogok-Mandalay road, near Sein Gone village, between mileposts 83 and 99, about 6 sections of the mountainside collapsed, blocking the road. Today, although the exact locations are unknown, landslides are continuing, so neither uphill nor downhill vehicles can depart. Some vehicles are stranded on the road," said an official from a fast-moving vehicle association operating between Mogok and Mandalay.
