Ferdy Sambo Denies Luxury Cell Allegations in Prison

Ferdy Sambo, through his lawyer, has denied allegations of occupying a luxury cell at the Cibinong Penitentiary (Lapas Kelas IIA Cibinong), as reported by the Indonesian Ombudsman. His legal counsel, Arman Hanis, stated that Sambo is currently serving his sentence in Block A, Room 2.5, alongside other inmates, and has not occupied any "homestay-like" facilities as publicized. Hanis clarified that visits from family and legal representatives take place within the designated areas of the prison, similar to general public visits, and not in any "residence" as depicted in the Ombudsman's findings. He added that the Cibinong Penitentiary administration has confirmed that Sambo is housed with other inmates without differential treatment. The Head of the West Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections has also publicly stated that no findings indicate Sambo occupying or enjoying such facilities. Furthermore, the Ombudsman's own statement reportedly found no factual link between Sambo and the alleged luxury cell.
