It is reported that a monks training, Vinaya Dhara (advanced) training, and a workshop for the reduction of religious crimes, organized by the Shan State Sanghanayaka Organization (all sects), is being held for five days. The training commenced on July 6th at the Weluwan Pariyatti Sasinthit (Buddhist monastic school) in Kyaunggyisu Ward, Taunggyi City, and is scheduled to continue for five days until July 10th. Regarding the purpose of holding the training, Director U Aung Kyi from the Shan State Religious Affairs Department stated that the workshop is being held with the aim of conducting monks training, Vinaya Dhara (advanced) training, and for the reduction of religious crimes. "The objective of today's event is to provide training, referred to as monks training and Vinicchaya training, by respected senior monks, so that the monks serving at various levels of monastic organizations can become proficient in the duties related to the Sanghanayaka and in legal matters. Similarly, along with this training, discussions will be held as a workshop to reduce religious crimes. By holding such trainings, we believe that the monks will gain a better understanding and become more proficient in procedures, directives, and legal matters, enabling them to work smoothly within the monastic organizations," said Director U Aung Kyi from the Shan State Religious Affairs Department. The Religious Affairs Department will order and provide books on procedures, directives, and monastic organization-related books, and will cooperate in administrative and office matters, according to the Director of the Religious Affairs Office. It is reported that seven subjects will be taught over five days in this training. The monks who will be teaching include two from the State Sangha Nayaka (Central), three from the State Sanghanayaka Organization (all sects), and individuals from the judiciary and legal departments will also teach legal matters related to religion. Monks from 21 townships in southern Shan State are attending the training, with one resident monk from each monastery. A total of 103 monks and 9 lay individuals are participating. This training has already been completed in northern and eastern Shan State, and the five-day training is currently being conducted in southern Shan State. News, Photos - Si Thar (Taunggyi)
