Vietnam Border Guards Support Construction of New Kindergarten in Border Area
The Coc Pang Kindergarten in Cao Bang province, northern Vietnam, is undergoing reconstruction from its dilapidated facilities. Border guards are supporting material transport and construction, contributing to the improvement of educational environments for local children.
Construction of a new kindergarten building is underway in Coc Pang Kindergarten, located in the border area of Cao Bang Province in northern Vietnam. This project is being implemented with funding from social contributions and support from General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security. Currently, Coc Pang Kindergarten serves 59 children across three classes. However, the existing facilities, including a classroom built in 2006 that has deteriorated, and two cramped prefabricated classrooms, are vulnerable to harsh weather conditions. Furthermore, the kitchen, sanitation facilities, and living spaces for teachers are inadequate to meet the childcare and educational needs of children in this highland border region. The new building is designed with the architectural concept of "Nếp nhà cho em" (Traditional House for Children), inspired by traditional stilt houses and simple earth walls. Upon completion, it will feature three classrooms, two staff living quarters, a kitchen, sanitation facilities, a secure fence, a school gate, and a concrete playground. In accordance with directives from the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Coc Pang Border Guard Post is carrying out the construction support plan. As of June 28, the unit dispatched 11 officers and soldiers to assist in transporting over 14 tons of construction materials to the site, accelerating the construction progress and ensuring safety. Moving forward, the unit will continue to organize forces according to the plan to assist with material transportation, site leveling, auxiliary construction, landscaping, and cleaning. They will also strengthen community engagement efforts, aiming for the facility to be operational before the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. This initiative reflects Vietnam's emphasis on improving social infrastructure, particularly educational facilities, alongside economic growth, under its one-party system. Addressing educational disparities in border areas is considered a crucial issue for national stability and development.
