Over 3.5 Billion Kyats Worth of Narcotics Seized in Yamethin

In Yamethin and Pyawbwe townships in Mandalay Region,覚醒剤錠剤 (stimulant pills) and heroin worth over 3.5 billion kyats were seized, according to the Myanmar Police Force. On the night of July 6, authorities searched the home of Chit Moe San in Thilawa Ward 3, Yamethin Township, based on information received. They seized 2.34 million覚醒剤錠剤 (stimulant pills) worth 3.51 billion kyats, along with a motorcycle and a mobile phone, and arrested Chit Moe San. According to the investigation, on July 7, Maung Thein (alias Chit Tee), who was involved in the transportation and sale of the seized覚醒剤錠剤 (stimulant pills), was arrested in Aungmingalar Ward, Yamethin Township. Zin Myo Aung (alias Phola) was arrested at his home in Thechaung Village, Yamethin Township, along with a vehicle used for transporting the覚醒剤錠剤 (stimulant pills) and a mobile phone. Similarly, on the night of July 7, Zin Htet Aung and Sai Htet Thway, residents of Pyawbwe Township, Pyuthayar Ward, were arrested near a hotel in Pyawbwe Township with 8.14 kilograms of heroin worth over 2 billion kyats, according to the statement. Currently, the arrested individuals are being prosecuted under the Law Relating to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances at their respective police stations, and investigations into accomplices are ongoing.
