President Jokowi to Attend PSI West Java Congress in September 2026, Targeting 5,000 Cadres

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) of Indonesia is reportedly planning to attend the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of the Solidarity Indonesia Party (PSI) in West Java at the end of September 2026. The party aims to mobilize 5,000 cadres for the event if the President attends. The plan was revealed by PSI Deputy Chairman Ronald A Sinaga, also known as Bro Ron, after meeting with President Jokowi at his residence in Solo on Friday (11/9). According to Bro Ron, the West Java regional leadership of PSI desires President Jokowi's presence. He stated that the regional chairman, out of deep affection for the President, promised that 5,000 cadres would attend if the President came. Bro Ron mentioned that President Jokowi was surprised by this plan. He noted that the PSI organization in West Java has a complete structure from the Regional Representative Council (DPD), District Council (DPC), down to the Sub-District Level (DPRt), making the leadership optimistic about gathering thousands of cadres. "The President himself was surprised, you know, 5,000 people at a Rakorda event like that. But I won't mention where it is, but the President himself was surprised that there is a region whose leadership is ready to bring 5,000 cadres. This is because the structure, from DPD, DPC, to DPRt, is complete. That's why they are very confident in bringing 5,000 cadres," Bro Ron said. Bro Ron stated that the enthusiasm of PSI cadres in West Java is quite high. This condition is supported by the organizational structure, which is considered ready and solid. "We are optimistic. The party structure in West Java is ready from the DPD, DPC, down to the Ranting level," he said. The Rakorda of PSI West Java is scheduled to take place at the end of September 2026.
