Drug Suspect Killed, Another Arrested in Lanao del Sur Operation
An anti-narcotics operation in Lanao del Sur, Philippines, resulted in the death of one suspect and the arrest of another. Seized crystal meth (shabu) was valued at approximately P3.1 million.
POLICE killed an alleged drug trafficker and arrested another suspect in an anti-narcotics operation in Ditsaan-Ramain, Lanao del Sur, seizing 466 grams of crystal meth or shabu worth P3.1 million. Police said the slain suspect, identified only as Alnor, opened fire after realizing he had sold drugs to undercover officers, triggering a brief shootout. He was declared dead on arrival at a hospital in Marawi City. The arrested suspect will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. Police also seized the motorcycle allegedly used to deliver drugs. — John Felix M. Unson
