Int’l Quantum Computing Hackathon Kicks Off in Gia Lai, Boosting Vietnam's Tech Self-Reliance

An international quantum computing hackathon has kicked off in Gia Lai Province in Vietnam's Central Highlands, as a key activity within the technology component of the Gia Lai Quantum Year 2026. The event brings together nearly 100 contestants organized into 26 teams, comprising students, PhD candidates, young researchers, startups, and tech talents. Alongside them are 50 domestic and international experts, mentors, and judges, contributing to technological innovation and talent development. This hackathon reflects Vietnam's strategic positioning of quantum technology as a pillar for its future technological self-reliance. Experts have highlighted the necessity of establishing a unified national network to master quantum technology, making this event a valuable opportunity to pool domestic talent and integrate international insights.
