USD 1 Million for DPR Hajj Special Committee Reduced in KPK Calculation, Witness Claims Personal Top-Up

A witness claims to have personally covered a shortfall of USD 40,100 (approximately Rp723 million) from a USD 1 million deposit intended for the DPR's Hajj Special Committee (Pansus Haji). Zainal Abidin, Commissioner of PT Sucofindo, testified that the money, entrusted by a special aide to the Religious Affairs Minister, was short when calculated by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
