Vietnam's Top Leader Meets Presidents of Timor-Leste, Switzerland, Finland in New York

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam held separate meetings with President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta, President of Switzerland Guy Parmelin, and President of Finland Alexander Stubb in New York on the afternoon of September 22 (local time). The meetings were part of his working trip to attend the high-level general debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and conduct bilateral activities in the US. During the meeting with Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta, opinions were exchanged on the development of friendly cooperation relations between the two countries. In particular, the intention to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and investment was expressed. With Swiss President Guy Parmelin, both sides agreed to further deepen cooperation in the fields of economy, technology, and education, while evaluating the progress of bilateral relations. President Parmelin highly appreciated Vietnam's economic growth and its contributions to the international community. In the meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, cooperation in areas such as climate change response and renewable energy, as well as strengthening cooperation in multilateral forums, were discussed. President Stubb expressed his support for Vietnam's efforts towards sustainable development. These meetings indicate Vietnam's proactive diplomatic engagement on the international stage and its efforts to strengthen relations with various countries. In particular, strengthening relations with European countries can be seen as part of Vietnam's strategy to promote economic growth and expand its international influence.
