Leptospirosis Claims Two Lives in Olongapo City Amidst Persistent Flooding

Two individuals have succumbed to leptospirosis in Olongapo City, Philippines, as persistent flooding continues to plague several areas, according to data from the Olongapo City Health Office. As of September 3, the city has recorded a total of 27 leptospirosis cases, with 18 remaining active. Of the active cases, 14 are currently admitted to hospitals, four are being treated as outpatients, and seven patients have recovered from the disease. The local government and the city health office have reiterated their warnings to residents, urging them to avoid wading or playing in floodwaters, particularly if they have open wounds.
