Marcos Jr. Administers Oath to New BJMP Officials, Highlights Rehabilitation

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday led the oath-taking of newly appointed Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) officials at Malacañang Palace. Marcos administered the oath to BJMP Jail Chief Superintendents Andrew Tauli, Jhon Montero, and Rill Sonon in a ceremony on Thursday afternoon. During the event, BJMP Jail Director Efren Nemeño presented Marcos with a painting created by persons deprived of liberty (PDLs). According to the Presidential Communications Office, the painting showcased the BJMP's "continuing efforts to strengthen rehabilitation and skills-development programs and support the [PDLs'] successful reintegration into society." This appointment highlights the administration's focus on the treatment and reintegration of inmates within the country's correctional facilities.
