It is known that out of the seven people on board the motorboat, one man and one woman were found alive, while the remaining five men are missing. The motorboat carrying the seven workers capsized due to engine failure and strong currents, and search and rescue operations for the missing are currently ongoing, it was said. "(The missing people) have not been found yet. We are still searching. The two who were found are in good health. The survival rate (of the missing people) is likely almost zero. This is because they went under the bottom of the motorboat," said the member of the social rescue team. It is also known that on July 19, a boat capsized at the jetty in Tar Long village, Thipaw Township, northern Shan State, and five out of the seven people on board were swept away, with only two found alive.
