Cambodia's Youth Urged: Cultivate Discipline, Morality, Loyalty, and Patriotism Alongside Skills for 2050 Vision

Pen Bona, Deputy Prime Minister's Assistant and Head of the Government Spokesperson Unit, urged Cambodian youth to cultivate discipline, morality, loyalty, and patriotism alongside knowledge and skills to achieve the nation's 2050 vision. He made these remarks during a lecture on "Youth Contribution Towards Achieving Cambodia's 2050 Vision" at the Techo Sen Ta Khauv Regional Polytechnic Institute. Bona stated that self-learning efforts are the most crucial driving force for youth to lead their lives towards a bright future and to become capable human capital, as desired by the government. He stressed that youth must not only strengthen their knowledge and skills but also become individuals with discipline, morality, loyalty, and genuine patriotism, actively contributing to the government's efforts to realize Cambodia's 2050 vision. He highlighted the "Pentagon Strategy" of the 7th mandate government, led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, with its first pillar focusing on human capital development, providing opportunities and valuing human resources, especially for youth's self-development. Bona encouraged students to seize this valuable opportunity and learn "beyond knowing," meaning not just theoretical knowledge for a diploma but the ability to apply it and solve real-world problems flexibly. He added that those with true capabilities can not only create opportunities for themselves but also contribute to national socio-economic development. In addition to learning and skill enhancement, Bona reiterated that discipline, morality, and loyalty are core values that must accompany knowledge and skills to build responsible and quality human capital. He particularly emphasized that fostering patriotism is increasingly important for the new generation, especially in the current context where the nation faces "unjust territorial aggression." He urged youth to unite, trust the government's leadership, and contribute to protecting national sovereignty and interests within their roles and capabilities. The event was attended by approximately 500 students and teachers from the Techo Sen Ta Khauv Regional Polytechnic Institute and the Ta Khmao Regional Teacher Training Center, along with the institute's director, Thou Sopheap.
