BEIJING, July 19, 2026 (KPT) – China Media Group (CMG) has pledged to intensify its promotion of Cambodia’s tourism potential and its visa-free entry policy for Chinese citizens, officials said Saturday. The commitment was made at a July 16 working dinner in Beijing between Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Xu Xiaoxia, head of CMG’s Khmer Language Section and director of Cambodia–China Friendship Radio, joined by journalist Kong Siqi. Hak was accompanying Prime Minister Hun Manet on his official visit to China and attendance at the World AI Conference in Shanghai. Hak thanked CMG and Cambodia–China Friendship Radio for longstanding cooperation in covering Cambodia’s tourism sector and supporting bilateral tourism ties. Xu, representing CMG leadership, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to expand promotion of Cambodian destinations and highlight the visa exemption policy for Chinese travelers. The meeting underscored growing Cambodia–China cooperation in using media platforms to boost tourism and deepen people‑to‑people exchanges. It was the fifth official engagement by Hak during Hun Manet’s visit to China.
