Organizers of the Miss Universe Cambodia pageant have apologized after a historical photograph from Thailand was mistakenly used in a stage presentation. The photograph in question, taken in 1906 in Kamphaeng Phet province, depicted seven Thai women in traditional attire, which was presented as Cambodian traditional clothing during the pageant. The organizers stated that the error stemmed from insufficient verification of original sources and emphasized that there was no intention to cause misunderstanding or offense. However, Thailand's Ministry of Culture pointed out that the watermark on the photograph appeared to have been cropped out, suggesting an intentional effort to mislead, and demanded an apology and correction.
