Vietnamese Children in Sakai, Japan Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival

On the evening of September 20, in Sakai City, Osaka, Japan, the Vietnamese community in the area, in coordination with the "Cay Tre" Vietnamese language school, organized a Mid-Autumn Festival (Tet Trung Thu) celebration program titled "Vui Hoi Trang Ram" (Festival of the Full Moon) for Vietnamese children living and studying in the region. This event aims to preserve Vietnamese culture and traditions abroad and provide children with an opportunity to experience their homeland's culture. The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important holiday in Vietnam where families gather, admire the moon, and share traditional sweets. For Vietnamese children living in Japan, this festival served as a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of their country's culture and strengthen their connection with the community. Under Vietnam's one-party system, overseas Vietnamese communities play a crucial role in fostering national unity and maintaining and promoting traditional culture. The transmission of culture to younger generations is considered indispensable for preserving national identity. Such events can help nurture cultural connections outside Vietnam and contribute to the dissemination of Vietnam's soft power. In recent years, with the growth of Vietnam's economy, the number of Vietnamese working abroad has been increasing. Cultural events organized by Vietnamese communities are actively taking place in various countries, including Japan, contributing to Vietnam's enhanced international presence.
