Cambodian Ruling Party Directs Local Teams to Strengthen Grassroots Organization

Cambodia's ruling party is accelerating efforts to strengthen its grassroots organizational base. Dr. Heng Sonna, head of the working group for the Toul Krol commune in Prasat Ballangk district, instructed local teams during a directive meeting on August 2, 2026, to develop plans for visiting party members and their families to assess their situations. Dr. Sonna emphasized the importance of focusing on party groups to accurately verify membership and listen to their challenges. He noted the necessity of ensuring party members have adequate documentation, especially expediting the renewal of expired identification cards. He also highlighted the urgent need to address issues concerning youth reaching voting age and individuals not yet registered on the voter list, designating these as top priorities. The importance of internal unity was also repeatedly stressed, with the achievement of resolutions at the village level deemed essential. Dr. Sonna urged all party members to take care of their health to continue contributing to local development. Dr. Sonna praised the efforts of the working teams who have diligently worked for the party, contributing to its potential success in upcoming elections, and wished them continued success.
