During the meeting, discussions were held on the progress of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Ethiopia, the successful holding of free and fair multi-party democratic general elections in Myanmar and the government elected by the people steadily advancing on the democratic path and carrying out state duties, as well as the successful holding of elections in Ethiopia in May and the new government carrying out national duties. Discussions were also held on the situation of promoting relations through mutual friendly visits by high-ranking officials between the two countries. Furthermore, discussions were held on the mutual exchange of experiences related to peace-making efforts for the cessation of internal conflicts, the situation of dispatching peace-building teams for observation, the situation of promoting relations and mutual cooperation between the parliaments, the situation of instability in border areas disrupting national image, nation-building, and national development activities, the need to best handle border issues, and the situation of systematically repatriating and handing over illegal foreign nationals entering the country through border areas to their respective countries. In addition, discussions were held on the situation of promoting cooperation in various sectors between the two countries, including agriculture, trade, and tourism, the situation of promoting mutual exchanges between the peoples of the two countries, and the situation of continuing to promote friendship and cooperation between the two countries. After the meeting, the State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister and the Ethiopian Ambassador to Myanmar based in Tokyo exchanged commemorative gifts and took a group photo with the attendees.
