225 Impoverished Families in Koh Kong Receive Food Aid During Rainy Season

During the handover ceremony on July 8th, held in Village 4, Dang Tong Commune, Dr. Ros Manasri, advisor to the Royal Government and President of the ASEAN Education Development Fund, stated that the organization and the association are always mindful of the difficulties faced by citizens experiencing food shortages and have thus provided these food packages. Dr. Manasri further emphasized the importance of participation in the government's political programs by the Muslim community to foster a harmonious Cambodian society. He highlighted the need to strengthen internal solidarity, unity, and to educate local residents about Khmer-Islamic traditions, including morality, etiquette, and religious values. The aim is to promote the development of Islam through religious leadership and maintain good relations with all levels of leadership in the province. Meanwhile, Mr. Thong Narong, Chairman of the Koh Kong Provincial Council, praised and expressed gratitude for the ASEAN Education Development Fund's past contributions. He noted that the fund has assisted many citizens in difficult situations, including providing financial aid to the elderly, constructing mosques and schools, and building houses for impoverished families. Mr. Narong also urged the Cambodian Muslim community to continue fostering unity, communication, and development within their community, advising them to avoid discord and disruptive activities that could lead to disunity. He also cautioned residents about the changing weather during the rainy season, urging them to take care of their health, seek immediate medical attention if ill, and avoid risky offshore fishing due to potential natural disasters.
