Continued discussions sought for a better political landscape

“We want to continue detailed discussions for a better political landscape,” said Chairman of the National Reconciliation and Peacebuilding Committee, Deputy Commander-in-Chief Lapyay. This was stated at the meeting between the National Reconciliation and Peacebuilding Committee and the United Wa State Party (UWSP), held on August 3rd at the meeting hall of the Horizon Lake View Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw. It was also stated that this meeting was the second meeting with the United Wa State Party (UWSP) since the new government took office. The coordination committee stated that it continued to present the issues related to regional development and healthcare that were discussed at the meeting in Pan San city. “We want the United Wa State Party (UWSP) to frankly discuss the necessary issues related to education, healthcare, transportation, and regional development,” said Deputy Commander-in-Chief Lapyay. At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the United Wa State Party (UWSP), U Kyaw Ko Ann, congratulated the President U Min Aung Hlaing again on his assumption of the duties of President, and stated that they are carrying out practical cooperation for the peace and development of the country, based on the federal system, while steadfastly adhering to the basic principle of "non-disintegration of the Union." Furthermore, U Kyaw Ko Ann stated that they support the peace process being carried out by the state government, always adhere to resolving differences, and will severely crack down on various criminal acts such as narcotics and online fraud, by strengthening the security of the people as a solid foundation. It is known that the meeting was attended by Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief Lapyay, Secretary Deputy Commander-in-Chief Min Naing, and members of the National Reconciliation and Peacebuilding Committee, Vice Chairman U Kyaw Ko Ann, Deputy Secretary-General U Pauk Aik Kham, and representatives of the United Wa State Party (UWSP). It is known that the second day of the meeting between the National Reconciliation and Peacebuilding Committee and the United Wa State Party (UWSP) is continuing on August 4th.
