Vietjet and Thales Expand High-Tech Aviation Cooperation

Vietjet, Vietnam's leading low-cost carrier, and Thales, a French aerospace and defense giant, have agreed to expand their cooperation in the field of aerospace technology. The new partnership focuses on advanced areas, particularly technical maintenance, digital aviation solutions, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity. Strengthening cooperation in these sectors is expected to contribute to deepening economic and technological collaboration between Vietnam and France. Specifically, Vietjet and CFM International (a joint venture between GE Aviation and Safran Aircraft Engines) are preparing to develop the capacity for maintaining the latest generation of engines within Vietnam. This move aims to enhance technological capabilities in Vietnam's aviation industry and build a sophisticated maintenance system domestically. In recent years, Vietjet has been active in expanding its international routes, announcing new services to Moscow and direct flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka. The airline also demonstrates flexible business operations responding to market needs, such as offering a large number of tickets to meet increased demand during the Tet (Lunar New Year) period. This partnership with Thales marks a significant step for Vietjet in strengthening its technological foundation as part of its growth strategy.
