Widespread rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are forecast across Cambodia due to the influence of Tropical Depression Krovanh. According to meteorological information released by the Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) on September 7, 2026, Tropical Depression Krovanh (T2624) continues to affect the southwest monsoon flow blowing over the Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea, South China Sea, Mekong River Basin, Cambodian Sea, and the Kingdom of Cambodia. However, the Kingdom of Cambodia is not in the direct path of Tropical Depression Krovanh. This weather situation is expected to bring the following impacts to various regions across Cambodia from September 7 to 9, 2026: 1. Lowland Areas: Temperatures will range from a minimum of 25°C to a maximum of 36°C. Winds from the southwest and northwest will blow at an average speed of 3 meters per second. Provinces including Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Tboung Khmum, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Takeo, Kandal, and Phnom Penh capital will experience rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds covering 40% of their areas. 2. Highland Areas: Temperatures will range from a minimum of 24°C to a maximum of 35°C. Winds from the southwest and west will blow at an average speed of 5 meters per second. Provinces including Kampong Speu, Pailin, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, the Dangrek Mountains, and the Cardamom Mountains will experience rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds covering 70% of their areas. 3. Coastal Areas: Temperatures will range from a minimum of 25°C to a maximum of 34°C. Winds from the southwest and southeast will blow at an average speed of 3 meters per second. Provinces including Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep, and the Bokor Mountain area will experience rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds covering 60% of their areas.
