President says the People's Military Service Law will continue to be applied

The People's Military Service Law will continue to be implemented, said the Head of State, President U Min Aung Hlaing. This was stated by the Head of State President during the State Address on the government's 100-day achievements, delivered on the 12th day of the 3rd regular meeting of the Third Union Assembly held on July 31. According to Article 340 of the Constitution, it is necessary to promote the People's Military strategy under the leadership of the Tatmadaw for the participation of the entire populace in national security and defense, he said. Regarding national defense, the Head of State President also said that the Tatmadaw will be built and organized as a modern army with combat capability and combat power. He said that the government will continue to formulate policies and fulfill the necessary resources to gain combat power. The Head of State President also stated that the People's Military Service Law, which came into effect and was enforced on February 10, 2024, will continue to be implemented to achieve respectable defense and security capabilities for the nation. Currently, the 26th batch of the People's Military Service training has been opened.
