Kampong Thom Authorities Support Troops Battling Natural Resource Crimes

The Kampong Thom Provincial Commission for the Prevention, Deterrence, and Suppression of Natural Resource Crimes, on the afternoon of July 18, 2026, provided food, daily necessities, and fuel, along with assigning duties, to the forces of the Kampong Thom Provincial Operation Command. These forces are stationed at four outposts within Santuk District. The ceremony took place at the O'Ta Prohm Forestry Administration office in Santuk District, Kampong Thom Province. Major General Som Sun stated that in accordance with the strict orders of His Excellency Noun Pharat, Governor of Kampong Thom Province and Chairman of the Provincial Government Command Committee, all forces must cooperate closely with specialized authorities and local administrations at all levels. Their mission is to resolutely prevent, deter, and suppress forest encroachment and the illegal occupation of state land, ensuring no new incidents occur. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to manage land that was illegally encroached upon by offenders in previous years, which has already been confiscated as state property by joint forces and specialized institutions, preventing any further loss. Major General Som Sun also issued directives to the forces of the Kampong Provincial Operation Command stationed at the four outposts. He instructed them to continue collaborating with joint forces and specialized institutions to investigate and identify the masterminds behind illegal logging and the illicit transportation of timber. Once sufficient evidence is gathered, cases will be built and sent to the court for prosecution without exception. On this occasion, the Kampong Thom Provincial Commission for the Prevention, Deterrence, and Suppression of Natural Resource Crimes presented food, daily necessities, and fuel, donated by His Excellency Noun Pharat, to the forces stationed at the four outposts for their use in fulfilling their duties.
