Cambodian PM Chairs ASEAN Public Service Ministers Meeting

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet presided over the opening ceremony of the 23rd ASEAN Ministers on Public Service and the 8th ASEAN+3 Ministers on Public Service, held under the theme 'Innovation for Better Public Service Delivery' on the morning of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Siem Reap Province. ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM) began among ASEAN member states in 1980 at a conference on reforms in the public service sector. The institution was officially established in 1981 under the original name 'ASEAN Conference on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM).' At the 18th ACCSM Senior Officials Meeting in October 2015 in the Philippines, the meeting proposed a name change, and it was officially decided to change the name to 'ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM)' by the heads of ASEAN civil services in a restricted meeting on November 17, 2015.
