Cambodia participated in the 47th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Drug Matters, hosted by Thailand, held virtually. The meeting served as a platform to share achievements and challenges in drug control efforts among ASEAN member states.
Cambodia participated in the 47th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Drug Matters and its Related Meeting on August 4, 2026, held virtually. The meeting was hosted by Thailand and attended by delegates from all 11 ASEAN member states and the ASEAN Secretariat via Zoom. Leading the Cambodian delegation was His Excellency General Meas Vyrith, Secretary-General of the National Authority for Combating Drugs and Head of Delegation. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the esteemed delegates, representatives of ASEAN member states, the ASEAN Secretariat, and all participants for their presence and wished them good health, success, and prosperity in their duties. His Excellency General Meas Vyrith stated his strong belief that the two-day meeting, from August 4-5, 2026, would proceed smoothly and successfully. He anticipated that the meeting would provide an opportunity to review achievements, reflect on strengths and areas for improvement, and share best practices and experiences among member states. The meeting is aimed at strengthening collective efforts to combat drug-related issues within the ASEAN region, contributing to overall regional security and stability. Cambodia reiterated its commitment to ongoing cooperation within the ASEAN framework to address the serious challenges posed by drug abuse and trafficking. Source: AKP Khmer
