Cambodia launched an event to foster technological innovation and digital economy growth as part of the national 'Khmer Technology Power' campaign. The event brought together local entrepreneurs, startup founders, and SMEs to enhance skills and discuss business creation in the tech sector.
An event aimed at accelerating Cambodia's technological growth and digital economy has been held in Phnom Penh as part of the national 'Khmer Technology Power' campaign. The event, organized by B2B Asia News, took place on July 31, 2026, at Factory Phnom Penh. It gathered local entrepreneurs, startup founders, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners, innovators, students, and technology professionals for a full-day program focused on enhancing practical technology skills and fostering collective momentum for Cambodia's digital future. The event commenced with crucial workshops emphasizing digital literacy and skill development. Taught by experienced industry professionals from BKD Academy, 2080 Ventures, and PharmKulen, participants gained practical knowledge on integrating digital skills into daily tasks, fostering creativity, and utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a primary assistant for developing innovative tech business ideas. The sessions also covered how to select and implement AI tools for small businesses. Concurrently, a "Technology Marketplace" exhibition provided an opportunity for attendees to directly engage with over 20 emerging technology companies, digital SMEs, technology firms, and entrepreneurs. Additionally, an innovation showcase on stage featured presentations from 10 leading digital technology innovators in Cambodia, detailing their solutions and digital products that have already been officially launched. Anthony Galliano, CEO of B2B Asia News, highlighted Cambodia's ongoing digital transformation and how the 'Khmer Technology Power' campaign plays a role in supporting and promoting local innovators in the digital technology sector. He stated, "The future is being coded in offices across Phnom Penh, being powered on local cloud servers, and being connected to small businesses in provinces across Cambodia. Through 'Khmer Technology Power,' we are moving forward to promote locally developed technology, digital infrastructure, cloud solutions, and e-commerce platforms." The 'Khmer Technology Power' campaign is a six-month flagship initiative organized by B2B Asia News, supported by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), the Research and Development Fund for Telecommunications and ICT (SARAF), and Khmer Enterprise. Its objective is to promote domestic technology, foster cross-sector collaboration, and celebrate Cambodian digital solutions, aiming to shift perceptions and build confidence in local innovation. The campaign serves as a vital bridge connecting Cambodian technology developers with corporate decision-makers, investors, and policymakers. By showcasing scalable technology systems, digital tools, and business models developed by Cambodians, 'Khmer Technology Power' aims to demonstrate that Cambodia's technology sector is not only capable of solving domestic market challenges but is also increasingly equipped to compete regionally. Sarvinoz Nuritdinova, Managing Director of B2B Asia News, observed that from the specialized workshops to the dynamic activities at the tech booths, it is clear that Cambodia's technology ecosystem is growing, innovating, and ready to lead and strengthen digital Cambodia. She emphasized that the "Accelerating Cambodia's Tech Growth" event is just the first step in this six-month digital journey, likening it to the start of a long marathon. "When we finish the 'Accelerating Cambodia's Tech Growth' program, I am filled with immense hope. Today, we are seeing the future of Cambodian technology in vibrant action. If today is a sprint, remember we are running a marathon together," she concluded. Source: AKP Khmer
