Vietnam Communist Party Reassigns 6 Central Committee Members to Key Positions

The Communist Party of Vietnam announced on September 18 the reassignment of six Central Committee members (including one alternate member) to key party positions. This move is seen as part of a series of personnel changes aimed at strengthening the party's organizational capacity, revitalizing local administration, and achieving economic growth targets. Among those reassigned are Dinh Huu Thanh (Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Commission) to Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee; Dang Van Dung (Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Department) to Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee; Trinh Manh Linh (Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Department) to Deputy Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee; Nguyen Si Hiep (Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Department) to Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee; Nguyen Van Phuong (Central Committee member, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee) to Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Department; and Tran Quan (Alternate Central Committee member, Director General of the State Treasury) to Deputy Secretary of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee. Standing Secretary of the Secretariat, Tran Cam Tu, emphasized that the reassigned officials have received sound training, gained grassroots experience, and held leadership positions at various levels, contributing significantly to their respective localities and departments. He urged the new deputy secretaries to quickly grasp the local situation and personnel dynamics, and to implement decisive measures to achieve the target of double-digit economic growth. Furthermore, he instructed the central party departments to leverage their roles as strategic advisory bodies to the Party Central Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat, providing direct and continuous guidance in economic and social development, politics, ideology, morality, propaganda, publishing, and journalism. He particularly called for proactive contributions to refining the economic system and formulating major policies, strategies, and guidelines concerning socio-economic development and political-ideological direction.
